Invisible Dog Experiment

On September 27th, a thousand people crammed into an old factory in Brooklyn where the invisible dog leash was once manufactured. There they became agents for Improv Everywhere’s new prank. The leashes were handed out and chaos erupted onto the streets. I was on hand to help capture the fun.

The summit for the Out-of-home Advertising Bureau was recently held at the Hyatt Hotel in midtown. I was there with Jac Cheairs of Brooklyn Camera Rentals to shoot some interviews with the organizers and buyers of this expanding media consumption medium.

Japanese Country Singer ROCKS!

Jan is brought in as a camera operator for the documentary project called Made In Japan produced by A Window In A Tunnel films. The film is the story of Tomi Fujiyama, a Japanese country music artist who was on the Grand Ol’ Oprey in 1964 and who is back in the USA to attempt to relive the experience.

Jan shot a yearly gathering of the Porto Rican Schwinn Bike Club in late August for the bleeding edge website City of Memory. The story features interviews with the club president and members, the bike awards, and a parade of the bikes and airhorns. The club, based in Bushwick Brooklyn, has been in operation for 26 years.

Gentrification in Brooklyn

“Greenpoint: Re-Zoned so YOU can OWN” was shown in a classroom as a reference tool for gentrification. Here’s what happened:
“It was for Architectural Theory. My group had to discuss Latin America and Gentrification. We had our Power point presentation already but I wanted a video. When I found ur I was like OH YES. People were laughing as well as seriously quesitoning gentrification and its effects. It was great.” -Jlois87

Bushwick open studios

NSF is participating in this years neighborhood art extravaganza known as the Bushwick Open Studios. It will take place Saturday June 7th 1-8p at 321 Harman St 1R (Irving/Knickerbocker). Video art installation by Jan VanDamme and paintings/photography by Paul Nicholson. Free drinks in the beer garden! See the rest of the hood also.

Spotlesslight demo

A new projector technology from Spotlesslight uses sensors in the console to project computer driven effects on to subjects in front of it. NSF shot the preformance demo in midtown.

Video services were provided to Astrojax. Expert users of the skill toy were gathered from around the world to attend the shoot in NYC and also the Toy Fair held at the Jacob Javitt’s Convention Center.
